Paul Pogba‘s potential move to Manchester United is quickly turning into the summer saga which fans were desperate to avoid.
Out in Spain there are contrasting views on Pogba. AS say Pogba is very close to completing his move to United but that his dream is to work under Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid. Conversely, Marca asked their readers to value Pogba and the overwhelming majority feel he’s not worth the £100m price-tag. In the last two weeks, Marca have been very consistent in saying Madrid are not interested in the French midfielder.
Looking at some other updates, Pogba has been left out of Juventus’ squad for the upcoming International Champions Cup which will be their pre-season tour. This was an expected move following his participation in Euro 2016 with France. He should join up with Juventus on 31 July after they return, so long as he is still a Juventus player.
Juventus’ director Giuseppe Marotta has denied having any contact with Man United up until this point but his agent Mino Raiola has been doing his utmost to stir the pot and keep the rumours churning. As you can see from the Spanish press, he’s succeeding.
As fans, we’re left to sift through the mires of transfer season and try to come up with some truths but it is so often hidden among red herrings and downright lies at times. We’re hoping to hear something concrete on Pogba soon enough and if AS is correct, it might be sooner than we think.
