Marcus Rashford has joined up with his Manchester United team-mates for this summer’s pre-season tour of China.
The 18-year-old striker had been given an extended break following his participation with England at Euro 2016 but has come back earlier than Jose Mourinho expected, allowing him to be part of the tour.

Although Rashford won’t play against either Borussia Dortmund or Manchester City in China, it’s really important that he’s on the plane simply because this is his first senior tour because his breakthrough only came in February 2016.
Being part of the 2016 tour was something he could only dream of last summer but he’s made it a reality through becoming one of our central figures in the second half of Louis van Gaal‘s final season in charge. As Sir Matt Busby famously said, ‘if you’re good enough you’re old enough’ and Rashford is a living example of that motto in action.
Mourinho’s already named Rashford as one of his main strikers next season alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic and as excited as we are for next season, imagine how Marcus must feel about learning from and playing alongside Zlatan? It’s probably a situation which was beyond his wildest dreams, to be fair I thought that too a couple of seasons ago but low and behold Zlatan joined.
Seeing as he isn’t going to play, Rashford will be able to concentrate solely on getting to know Mourinho, his new team-mates Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan and simply work on his fitness ahead of next season.
