Marcus Rashford is relishing his first major pre-season tour with Manchester United as he looks to impress new manager Jose Mourinho.
The Englishman will be part of Mourinho’s squad that leaves for the China trip on Tuesday ahead of their matches against Borussia Dortmund on July 22 and Manchester City on July 25.
He quickly burst onto the scene at Old Trafford last season after he was given his senior debut against FC Midtjylland and has continued to knock down all expectations of himself since then.
Speaking about the tour, Rashford insists it’s an opportunity to show the manager his quality.
“It means a lot to be going,” he told the club’s official website.
“It’s an opportunity to show the manager what you’ve got and you have to take the opportunity when it comes.
“It would be a massive experience especially with the players that could be going as well. I’ve got a lot I can learn from them.”
Rashford will be eager to impress Mourinho as he looks to build on a phenomenal few months as a United first-team player.
He’ll be looking forward to meeting up with the rest of the players and Mourinho’s new signings Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and his new mentor upfront Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
