Henrikh Mkhitaryan insists he will try to do everything in his power to bring titles to Manchester United.
The 27-year-old completed his transfer from Borussia Dortmund earlier this month in a deal worth over £26.3 million and has already impressed during his unofficial debut in the 2-0 friendly win over Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
He has flown to China for the pre-season tour and could be set to play a vital role for Mourinho’s side against his former side, Dortmund, in Friday’s much-anticipated match at the Shanghai Stadium.
Speaking about his plans, Mkhitaryan outlined his determination to win titles with Mourinho’s side.
“It’s a very good opportunity to play for United,” he said.
“Manchester are one of the biggest clubs. I am very happy and I will try to do my best to help us win.
“We will try to do everything to win titles. It will be difficult but let’s hope we can have a good preparation and then we will see.”
Mkhitaryan had a spectacular showing against Wigan at the DW Stadium and underlined his versatility up front, which will undoubtedly open up plenty of options this season for Mourinho.
Many fans feared it would take him time to settle in at United as it took him almost a year to adapt to life at the Westfalenstadion, but it looks like he’s getting stuck in and recently confirmed he was already feeling comfortable.
The club have suffered disappointing tenures under David Moyes and Louis van Gaal but we could be taking turn for the better with Mourinho and his new signings.
