The latest from Di Marzio says the negotiations are at a ‘very advanced’ stage with Man United simply looking for an agreement on the final price and the percentage going to Raiola which has caused so many problems to this stage.
Furthermore, Real Madrid’s name crops up again and the suggestion is they’ve made a move in the direction of signing Pogba but are so far behind United there is little chance of it coming in between his return to Old Trafford.
It does sound like L’Equipe may have jumped the gun a bit early with their reports on Wednesday that a deal for Pogba had already been agreed between all parties, but that shouldn’t be a cause for major pessimism. Madrid lurking in the background very much feels like a too little too late sort of situation (although there is always that voice at the back of your head…).
What would Raiola need to speak about with Pogba face-to-face? Hopefully it is because the issues surrounding his percentage cut have been sorted and he wants to discuss the final agreement, that’s the best case scenario. After all, that’s the hold-up and the reason this deal isn’t already complete. Worst case is they’d chat about a move to Madrid.
We’re all on tenterhooks now after L’Equipe’s report because we just want to see the deal pushed over the line. Right now, all we can do is continue to wait.
