Moyes, dismissed by Man United back in April 2014 after just 10 months in charge, made his return to English football earlier this week, taking the helm at Sunderland.
The Scotsman handed Januzaj his United debut in August 2013 and his first start in October 2013, against Sunderland, where the youngster announced himself to the world by scoring two magnificent goals in a 2-1 win.
With Januzaj teetering on the fringes of the first-team at Old Trafford, Moyes has targeted the Belgian as his first signing of the summer.
Moyes’ short time at Old Trafford saw a vast number of players regress from Premier League winners to timid disciples of a reserved and ultimately negative style of play. Januzaj, however, was an exception: under Moyes, the youngster served as a constant menace on either wing, bringing verve and conviction to otherwise toothless displays.
Ever since Moyes departed, Januzaj has struggled to impose himself on the first-team, with van Gaal largely ostracising the 21-year-old. Reuniting with Moyes, the manager that oversaw the zenith of Januzaj’s short career, could be exactly what the Belgian needs to rediscover his blistering form.
