We’ve been following the story surrounding Paul Pogba‘s move to Manchester United very closely.
Our initial offer worth €101m was rejected by Juventus after Ed Woodward flew out to Italy to join Mino Raiola for negotiations in Turin. Following that, Gianluca di Marzio brought reports that a second offer of €110m plus €10m in bonuses was also turned down by the Italian side.
Now, Matteo Moretto – who is part of Di Marzio’s staff – has told Spanish radio station COPE that United’s current offer stands at €120m and he will definitely leave Juventus.
MATTEO MORETTO: "La última oferta del @ManUtd por POGBA es de 120 millones. Se irá seguro".

At the time of writing this piece, Di Marzio has not discussed this himself. Is Moretto referring to the €110m offer plus €10m in add-ons or is there another new offer worth €120m up front? Either way, the prices are eye-watering but completely expected for two reasons – the first being that Juventus know United are flush with cash, the second being the Italian side don’t want him to leave and are digging their heels in.
I just want this transfer saga to be over and done with. United just need to pay Juventus whatever they want for Pogba because we’re clearly going to, it’s just Ed Woodward trying to penny pinch. When you’re dealing with figures this high, just pay it and get it over and done with.
Every day there are new updates on Pogba and AS in Spain are saying an announcement could happen by Wednesday or Thursday this week. Hopefully they’re not wide of the mark and Moretto is right that Pogba is definitely leaving.
