Jose Mourinho has revealed his biggest concern ahead of Manchester United’s preseason clash with Manchester City is ensuring his side return injury free.
Man United suffered a 4-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund on Friday, but will be back in action on Monday against their rivals in the International Champions Cup match
Pep Guardiola and Mourinho will be coming up against each other for the first time since taking up their respective roles and it will definitely be a game packed with action.
Speaking about his plans, Mourinho insists he wants to train with his whole group for the Galatasaray, Everton and Leicester City games.
“We want to keep calm, play safe, go home and keep the preparation going next week,” Mourinho continued. “Manchester City have all their players, but we have seven or eight who are not here and I want to train with the whole group for the Galatasaray, Everton and Leicester City games so that we are ready for the Premier League. A good result means going home without any injuries.”
Mourinho has plenty of players unavailable due to their participation at Euro 2016 and will be looking forward to having all his players back when they visit Sweden for their fixture against Galatasaray.
Man United suffered a wave of injuries last season and the Portuguese boss will be looking not to follow in Louis van Gaal‘s footsteps.
To fans relief, Mourinho has a low injury record and will be hoping to keep his players fresh as they head into a competitive Premier League season.
