Anthony Martial has returned to Manchester United training after having an extended summer break.
The striker was part of France’s Euro 2016 squad which went all the way to the final and as UEFA rules stipulate players must get a three week break before returning, Martial enjoyed himself away from the limelight for some down time with family.
However, now he’s back at the club and things are starting to get underway in terms of preparation for next season.
He trained alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic and much has been said about Martial’s feelings towards getting the No.9 shirt taken away from him and given to Zlatan, but there didn’t seem to be any issue at Carrington on Thursday:
It was breathtaking to watch Martial’s rise last season in a dull and lethargic United run by Louis van Gaal, so there is an almost palpable excitement about how he could play under Jose Mourinho when given a little bit more freedom to express himself.
United finished fifth last season on goal difference to Manchester City but with Martial, Rashford, Ibrahimovic, Rooney, Mkhitaryan and other talented attackers, we’ve got everything we need to score goals galore this year.
