While there are some players included in this list, there are others which raise eyebrows and others which raise downright concerns.
Here is the list of nine players:
Now, let’s start with the right calls. Blackett and McNair; these are two players who I feel have no future at United and to let them leave and further their careers right now is the right thing to do for both club and player.
The same can be said for Will Keane. It’s such a tragedy how injuries have curtailed his career but it’s the sad truth that they have blocked his progression into the first-team. With the strikers we’ve got at our disposal, he’ll get little to no game time and no comeon voucher code will change that. Prior to his injuries he was lethal in front of goal and although he has found his touch with flash points, United have too many strikers ahead of him now making his route to the first-team so difficult.
As for James Wilson, I desperately don’t want to see him leave but can see the logic behind it for the same reason as Keane – opportunities will be sparse, not enough to help him progress substantially.
When it comes to the other questions named, I raise a real eyebrow at Bastian Schweinsteiger. Yes he’s past his best but after having him for one year it would seem odd to not take the lesser gamble and keep him for another to see if he can turn back the clock.
Andreas Pereira, Adnan Januzaj, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson are all names which really concern me. All four should have bright futures with United, some brighter than others, and there’s not a chance they should be sold. Maybe a solid loan move could help but they are so hit and miss that I wouldn’t take the risk on one.
I hope Mourinho comes out to say these reports are gutter talk but I do expect to see some faces leave United just like Guillermo Varela. Whether it is all nine of these players or not remains to be seen.
