Manchester United have released their official third kit for the 2016/17 season.
The white Adidas strip is set to be worn for the first time in Man United’s pre-season match with Galatasaray in Gothenburg in Saturday – a match that could see Zlatan Ibrahimovic feature in a United shirt for the first time.
United’s official home kit was released on 23 July, whilst the blue 2nd kit was released in time for the 2-0 pre-season win over Wigan.
This new strip is without doubt a vast improvement on the peculiar black and orange third kit sported by the United side last season. Some may label it as bland but, in my view, the shirt’s simplicity is what creates its charm.
Adidas are known for occasionally going over the top in terms of design and various patterns, so is nice to see the United squad modelling something slick and straightforward. And seeing Ibrahimovic in a United shirt, with that menacing, domineering glare, is something that United fans will never tire of.
