Bastian Schweinsteiger has thanked fans for all their positive messages he received on his 32nd birthday on Monday.
The 32-year-old midfielder hasn’t made an appearance for Manchester United this season and reports emerged on Monday that he had been frozen out of the team by Jose Mourinho, report which were seemingly correct following his brother’s comment on Twitter aiming a swipe at our new boss.

Despite his current situation under Mourinho, Schweinsteiger remained upbeat in his message to fans.
He said: “Hi guys, thank you very much for the birthday wishes and the positive comments I received about the national team career, I feel very honoured.
“I hope we’re gonna see each other soon. Bye.”

I wonder whether will get to see Schweinsteiger soon? By the sounds of things, Mourinho has no intention of bringing him back into the squad. He was left out of our pre-season tour due to having an extended holiday post-Euro 2016 and didn’t travel to Sweden for our Galatasaray game despite being fit. It really looks like his time at United is up unless Mourinho has a u-turn and changes his mind.
It will be a real shame if Bastian is pushed ungracefully out of the club. Yes he’s not exactly had the impact we all wanted but he’s a modern legend of the game, so even if Mourinho doesn’t want him there’s a way to go about it but Louis van Gaal did a similar thing last year with Victor Valdes.
