Mourinho has been vocal of his interest in a fourth fundamental signing, who is believed to be Paul Pogba and reports suggest a deal could be announced soon as both clubs have reached an agreement for the Frenchman’s services.
Speaking about the new season, De Gea insists the players feel it could be a special campaign.
“We feel that it could be a special campaign,” he said.
We feel really strong with the new manager and new players, they’re really top players and I think this is going to be a great season.
“Of course, it’s good to be fit as soon as possible because on Sunday we have an important game against Leicester. They’ll be tough opponents for sure, they have a strong team and we know how they play. They play really well; we’ll need to be fit and play really good football to beat them.”
Mourinho’s new signings will undoubtedly be fundamental at the club, but De Gea will once again play a vital role as the Portuguese boss looks to get the club back to their former glory days.
The Spaniard has proven he is world-class and almost managed to take the Golden Glove award of Arsenal’s Petr Cech, despite not featuring at the start of the season while his future at the club remained uncertain.
Many fans believed De Gea would be on his way to Real Madrid this summer, but it looks like he’ll be sticking around at Old Trafford to see what the Portuguese boss has to offer with his exciting new side.
