Jose Mourinho has discussed his Manchester United summer signings ahead of his side’s fixture against Leicester City in the FA Community Shield.
The Portuguese boss was appointed as Louis van Gaal‘s sucessor this summer and has already completed deals for Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
He has also ben vocal of his ambition to sign a fourth player before the club’s Premier League fixture against Bournemouth on 14 August.
Speaking about his players, Mourinho insists he is happy with the balance of his new squad.
“We got a young central defender that needs time to be a top one, but he has top potential and we believe a lot in him,” he said.
“We brought Micki here, a player that we know the quality he has.
“We got a super striker [in Zlatan] and we are going to get a very good midfield player, so I am happy with the balance of my squad, I’m happy with the effort that the club has, and is still putting in for us.”
Mourinho has signalled his intent to build a world-class squad capable of winning trophies at Man United.
Many reports suggest a deal for Pogba has been reached and an official announcement will soon follow, his arrival will undoubtedly help the Portuguese take the club to the next level.
He will only be taking 23 players into the new season and has confirmed he will be hoping to close his summer transfer business before the club’s opening game of the Premier League.
