Manchester United have officially re-signed Paul Pogba from Juventus.
The 23-year-old French midfielder joins in a deal which makes him the most expensive transfer of all time and it’s a huge statement signing from Jose Mourinho and Ed Woodward.
Juventus had no intention of selling Pogba but through continued negotiations Man United were able to agree a fee which will see Pogba return to Old Trafford.
It’s been a very tumultuous transfer to report on but Pogba is now finally over the line and I could not be happier. The price, to me, is completely irrelevant so long as we’ve got the man and we certainly got our man.
Mourinho has always been shrewd in the transfer market but few could have expected him to bring in Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Eric Bailly and Pogba – four players who strengthen key weaknesses in the squad. All in all, it’s been a brilliant summer so far and there is likely to still be plenty of activity at United in terms of ins and outs.
