Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole admits he is delighted with the club’s capture of Paul Pogba this summer.

The Frenchman had been continuously linked with a move to Old Trafford, but he finally finalised his transfer from Juventus to Man United on Tuesday morning.

His deal was worth a world-record £89million and could be exactly what Mourinho’s side need to help take the club to the next level.

Speaking about the transfer, Cole insists Pogba is the exact type of player Man United needed.

“I would say I am very excited! He is a top player and everyone is delighted to have him back,” he said.

“Watching him as a youngster at United and more so at Juventus, you can see he gets up and down the football pitch. He creates goals and he got himself a few goals last season. He always wants to be involved and on the ball.

“It has been well documented in recent seasons that United have lacked legs in midfield, a player to get up and down with that power through the middle. It will be nice to have it.

Fans are set for an exciting season as Mourinho has secured his fourth fundamental signing at Man United with Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Pogba.

Not only does Pogba’s deal set the expectations high for next season, it also sends out a message of Mourinho’s intent to win titles with his exciting new side.

He’ll undoubtedly play a vital role on Mourinho’s side and supporters won’t have to wait much longer to finally see him in action.
