Pogba, who completed his £89m move to Man United on Tuesday, only began pre-season last week following an extended break due to his exertions at Euro 2016 and the subsequent chaos surrounding his potential move to Man United.
The Frenchman is banned for Man United’s opening game of the season against AFC Bournemouth after being handed a one match suspension for receiving two bookings in last season’s Coppa Italia with Juventus.
Speaking at a press conference, Mourinho insisted that his latest signing will be ready in time for the clash with Southampton.
“By Tuesday he will be ready to play against Southampton,” he said.
August 19 promises to be a momentous day for United fans. Under the lights of Old Trafford, Mourinho will finally take his place in that famous home dugout.
