Jamie Redknapp: Henrikh Mkhitaryan will bring something special to Manchester United

Sky Sports pundit and Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp believes Henrikh Mkhitaryan will bring something special to Manchester United.

He arrived from Borussia Dortmund this summer and despite having some impressive performances throughout the pre-season, was used off the bench in Jose Mourinho’s first Premier League game in charge.

Mkhitaryan has started behind Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata as the pair have gotten off to a great start scoring and proving their place in the first-team.

Speaking about the Armenian midfielder, Redknapp insists he can’t wait to see him in action.

“I’m looking forward to seeing Mkhitaryan,” he said.

“He’ll really add something special to Man United’s midfield. He can spot a pass, and where they fit them in something that Jose Mourinho is going to have to find the answer to.”

Mourinho said Mkhitaryan was upset with him after only being substituted on at the end of the game against Leicester City, but only played 16 minutes against Bournemouth.

It looks like the Portuguese boss is trying to ease him into life in England as he had some problems adapting at Dortmund when he first arrived at the Westfalenstadion.

He was named Bundesliga’s Player of the Season last year and I can’t wait to see him playing each week as he has already displayed some exceptional talent.
