The Swede helped Mourinho’s side claim the Community Shield after he scored the winner last weekend and helped round off the 3-1 victory against Bournemouth after he scoring on his Premier League debut.
Ibrahimovic is set to play a vital role for Man United this season and his arrival at Old Trafford with the experienced quality in the box that they have missed in recent years.
Speaking about his new signing, Mourinho claims Ibrahimovic does not have the body and mentality of a 34-year-old.
“For the team, you have to forget the passport,” he said.
“Zlatan Ibrahimovic is 34 years old. The body and mentality are not those of a 34-year-old guy. He’s at the top of his qualities.”
He hasn’t shown any deterioration as he enters the latter stages of his career, in fact his last season at Paris Saint-Germain saw him score a record-best 50 goals in 51 appearances across all competitions.
Ibrahimovic will not only play a vital role on the pitch, but will also help Mourinho in inspiring Man United youngsters and pushing them to get the best out of them.
