Patrick Vieira believes Paul Pogba will feel the weight of his world record £89 million transfer fee on his shoulders at Manchester United.
The Frenchman arrived at Old Trafford earlier this month after leaving for less than £1m to join Juventus in 2012.
Pogba has been compared to the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, however former Juventus star Vieira believes he should focus on becoming his own player.
“I’m a massive fan of Pogba,” he said.
“But at the same time I believe the Premier League is different, and there will be a lot of pressure on his shoulders because of the price tag and expectation.
“He will have to find the right balance because if he thinks he will win games by himself that will be a massive mistake for him. If he tries to do something that he can’t do that will be a massive mistake as well.
“If people are expecting him to score 40 goals a season, that will not be the case, but he can make a difference with his physical and technical ability.
“He needs to find the right balance and do what he can best and not try to play as somebody else.
“Ibrahimovic, the way I know him, will be a really good person to help him to find the way and perform the way he can.
“He will have no choice any way but to listen to him! He will help him because he’s a fantastic team-mate.”
Expectations are undoubtedly high when it comes to Pogba at Man United, but it’s completely normal when you have become the most expensive player of all-time.
He is an exceptional talent and has the ability to change the game alone, which is the reason Jose Mourinho has placed him at the heart of his exciting new side.
Pogba’s debut against Southampton was seriously special, the quality he provides in midfield is something we have missed out on in recent years and I can’t wait to see him in action again against Hull City next weekend.
