Fullham manager Slavisa Jokanovic insists his recruitment team have held up a deal for Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira.
Jokanovic is keen to sign Pereira on loan after receiving a glowing recommendation from Jose Mourinho but Fulham’s data analyst Craig Kline is said to have blocked the move.
Pereira was prepared to join the Championship side after being told by Mourinho he wouldn’t play a role in his plans at Old Trafford this season.
Speaking about a transfer, Jokanovic believes Pereira would be a brilliant signing and is disappointed a deal has not gone through.
“I had an opinion from one of the best managers in the world on one of the players and he believes it is a good signing for us and I believe that too,” he said.
“Craig doesn’t believe it is a good signing for us and this guy is not with us.
“It generally depends on this guy [Kline] who is going to sign for us or not. The last decision is in the hands of this man. It is not my business.
“I’m a little bit disappointed because no one knows who this guy is. Instead he’s sitting in the directors box. I want to take responsibility for how I work with my team and how they perform but I am not part of the recruitment business. It is in the hands of people who believe they’re more prepared.”
He made his debut in 2014 in the League Cup against Milton Keynes Dons and despite showing plenty of talent in each showing, he has not been able to cement his place in the first-team.
Should a move to Fulham go through, he would have a perfect opportunity to pick up first-team game time each week which he wouldn’t have at Old Trafford.
Mourinho has done brilliantly to facilitate moves for his players that won’t be in his plans and hopes are Pereira is able to find a club where he can develop his skills before slotting back into the Man United side.
