Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has taken a dig at his former Borussia Dortmund team-mate Henrikh Mkhitaryan over his transfer to Manchester United.
The Armenian midfielder completed his £27 million move to Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho this summer with one year left on his contract at the Westfalenstadion.
Aubameyang was also linked with a summer move to Man United, but has expressed how he would have handled a switch differently to Mkhitaryan.
“In the end, all involved have to be pleased with it, and you still have to be able to look each other in the eye,” he said.
“It’s about how you do it.
“And a few things were done in public recently which were not okay, and which you are not necessarily able to relate to as a colleague.”
Dortmund also lost Ilkay Gundogan and Mats Hummels this summer so it’s no surprise to to see him frustrated, but transfers will always continue in football.
Some fans accused Mkhitaryan of forcing an exit but he is completely entitled to a move and Dortmund could have held on to the Bundesliga Player of the Year as they wouldn’t have been forced into selling him.
It’s a shame to see their friendship suffer as a result of his transfer but hopes are it isn’t anything too serious.
