AS Monaco vice president Vadim Vasilyev has confirmed Manchester United target Fabinho will stay in France this season.
An agreement between Fabinho and the club entailed a clause that stated was free to leave Monaco if they qualified for the Champions League, which they duly did, giving Jose Mourinho the green light to move for the player.
The Brazilian fuelled speculation over a potential move to Old Trafford after claiming he was “not certain” of his future at Monaco.
However, Vasilyev dispelled the possibility of a move by confirming that no more players will leave Monaco this transfer window.

Such a statement is indicative of Mourinho being entirely content with his squad: his four ‘fundamental’ signings, discussed in his first press conference as United manager, have all been acquired and eased into the squad, and his 100% start after four games illustrates the way this squad has adapted to his methods.
Indeed, Mourinho’s lack of business in the latter part of the transfer window reflects a belief that this current squad is capable of competing the silverware without any last minute ‘supplementary’ recruits.
