Morgan Schneiderlin‘s agent, Pascal Boisseau, has insisted the Frenchman will remain at Manchester United this season.
Jose Mourinho made it clear last week there will be no more arrivals or departures at Old Trafford during this window, claiming he was content with the state of his squad.
Speaking to Sport Witness, Boisseau reiterated the manager’s sentiments by confirming Schneiderlin was going nowhere this season.
“He’s staying in Manchester.,” he said.
It goes without saying that Mourinho, a staunch pragmatist and serial competitor, would never entertain the prospect of selling a key member of his squad to a rival side. Yes, he sold Juan Mata to Man United, but were they really a threat to Chelsea under David Moyes? No, they weren’t.
Mourinho is evidently determined when it comes to keeping his squad together. A fundamental feature of any Mourinho team is an unshakable collective understanding, a well-integrated group of winners pulling in the same direction. And whilst Schneiderlin has been a peripheral figure this season, appearing just once off the bench for a five minute cameo against AFC Bournemouth, he still remains a fundamental aspect of the 53-year-old’s first team.
