Paul Pogba has made it clear he intends to win the Ballon d’or during his time at Manchester United.
The French midfielder joined Man United from Juventus in July for a world record transfer fee of £89 million.
After completing his move to Old Trafford, Pogba insisted he came back to win titles. Since joining the Italian giants in 2012, he played four seasons, winning four Serie A titles, two Coppa Italia, two Supercoppa Italiana and many individual honours.
Speaking about his plans, Pogba claims he will need to score at the top level to be considered for the Ballon d’or.
“I also look at a player like Pavel Nedved,” he said.
“I tell myself, the year he took his golden ball, kept scorer in the Champions League is how a midfielder becomes golden ball.
“Even when you’re midfielder is important to score if you want to be at the top level.”
After leaving United four years ago, Paul Pogba has grown from a youngster with potential to one of the most dominant midfielders in world football.
He has won plenty of trophies at the highest level of football and it has undoubtedly left him hungry for more.
At a time when United look to regain their reputation as the most successful club in English football, Pogba is exactly the kind of player who can help us on our way.
