Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes Paul Pogba will make critics swallow their words.
The French midfielder has been a constant subject of discussion following his world-record £89 million move back to Old Trafford from Juventus.
There have been many critics of his ability since his transfer and it’s completely normal considering how much he is worth, but Ibrahimovic was quick to jump to his defence, insisting he will only get stronger.
”Paul came from a generation that is becoming important in France,” he said.
“The national team did not win the Euros, unfortunately, but the generation is strong and they will become stronger and Paul is one of them, and with what he has done, he will become even better.
“I did not know Paul before and now I know him personally, he is a boy who works hard, he wants to progress and has a good attitude.
“But he is still young and all the jealous people talking about him will swallow every word they said about him. Because he will only get better.”
Pogba left United four years ago due to a lack of first-team action under Sir Alex Ferguson, but has returned as one of the best midfielders in the world.
He won four Serie A titles in as many seasons at Juventus and the Frenchman has developed all aspects of his game as he looks to take on the Premier League.
At 23, there is plenty of time for him to only get better, it’s a scary thought to even think about the type of impact he could have at Old Trafford for the next decade.
