Eric Bailly has reacted to winning Manchester United’s Player of the Month award for August.
The Ivorian arrived at Old Trafford this summer as Jose Mourinho’s first signing at the club and has gotten his career off to a blistering start.
He has been an indispensable member of Jose Mourinho’s match day squads and has a vital part to play at Old Trafford this campaign in the centre of defence.
Speaking about the award, Bailly thanked his team-mates for helping him win the award.
“I’ll just say that it was easy for me to settle at the beginning,” he said.
“Thanks to my team-mates and the technical staff, it’s gone very well.
“I’d like to thank my team-mates for all the help they gave me. I’m standing here today thanks to them, with the Manchester United Player of the Month award.”
Many thought it would take him a while to adapt to life in England, but he has consistently been one of our best players of the season so far.
It’s brilliant to see his hard work rewarded and the award will undoubtedly push him further to get the best out of him as he heads into a busy month of fixtures.
At 22, Bailly is still young and to think he’ll only improve over his time at Old Trafford will be a scary thought for strikers in the Premier League.
