Fans delighted with Wayne Rooney’s exclusion from Feyenoord squad

Manchester United fans were delighted with Jose Mourinho’s decision to exclude Wayne Rooney from his squad for the Europa League qualifier fixture against Feyenoord.

The Man United striker has been consistently under-performing for club and country in recent times, struggling to keep up with some of the other players on the side.

His recent performance against Manchester City was nothing special and he was unable to cause Claudio Bravo any problems from the No.10 role.

Here’s what fans on social media had to say about his exclusion from the squad.

Man United kick-off their Europa League campaign on Thursday night and will face a tough Feyenoord side, who have scored 15 goals in their last five fixtures.

Leaving Rooney at home will give the Portuguese boss the perfect opportunity to switch his team around and provide some game-time to players who have seen little to no action so far.

It’ll be interesting to see who Mourinho decides to include in his starting XI with plenty of options available, hopes are we can see the likes of Memphis Depay, Morgan Schneiderlin and Marcus Rashford in action.
