Paul Merson believes Manchester United will lack confidence heading into Sunday’s fixture against Watford.
Man United have lost their previous two games against Manchester City and Feyenoord – and will want to put an end to their loss streak at Vicarage Road.
He claims suffering two narrow defeats within a week will have dented United’s confidence and predicted a tough contest between both sides.
“Manchester United’s confidence will be knocked after losing in their own backyard against their arch enemy, who didn’t even have their best player. That was a major blow,” he said.
“Watford are the league’s entertainers at the moment – there’s always goals when you go and watch them play.”
After their 4-2 win over west Ham last week, Watford are expected to be full of confidence as they host United this weekend.
However, Mourinho’s side will go in to the game under pressure, with nothing less than a win acceptable for fans.
Both teams have found the back of the net seven times in four games so we’re set for an action-packed fixture, but in order to bring home a win, Mourinho will need to sharpen his tactics to take down Walter Mazzarri’s side.
