Paul Pogba‘s agent insists Manchester United have sent out a clear message to rivals with the signings the club have made this summer.
The Frenchman arrived at Old Trafford from Juventus as the world’s most expensive player with a record £89million transfer fee.
Speaking about his client, Raiola revealed United have been negotiating a deal for over two years.
“Yet I think Manchester United showed the world this summer that they were not going to stand still, they want to be the best,” he said.
“They sent out a message with the transfers they did that this is the biggest club in the world.”
“I always say to my players we go where we are needed. United will always be one of the biggest clubs in the world whether by reputation or balance sheet.
“Yes, Manchester United had no Champions League and weren’t champions but they needed us the most.
“United had been talking to us for two years about Pogba.”
He also represents Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who both completed summer deals to Man United under Mourinho.
While Mkhitaryan and Pogba have taken time to settle down in England, Ibrahimovic has made an instant impact in the Premier League, scoring goals each week.
It’s only a matter of time before they all find their feet under Mourinho, and when they do, they’ll undoubtedly cause big problems for rivals.
