Manchester United fans were delighted with Marcus Rashford‘s EFL Cup debut against Northampton on Wednesday afternoon.
He has often been praised for making an instant impact when called upon by Jose Mourinho and delivered once again.
Rashford was introduced off the bench in the second-half and picked up an assist after he produced a brilliant lay-off for Ander Herrera‘s goal, before chasing the ball down and finding Man United’s closing goal of the game.
Here’s what fans on social media had to say about his performance.
Rashford is the best thing to happen to United since Fergie left #MUFC

That, kids, is why you don't give up on a loose ball!
Marcus Rashford has no right to get that, but does. Absolute star.

Rashford has now scored on his Europa League debut, Premier League debut, Manchester derby debut, England debut, England U21s debut and his EFL Cup debut.
He has continued to knock down all expectations of himself and managed to do more in the first 20 minutes he was playing than Wayne Rooney had managed all game.
I’m absolutely delighted Mourinho decided to give him a run out at Sixfields Stadium, his impressive showing may have also persuaded the Portuguese boss to award him with a chance to play in Saturday’s Premier League clash against Leicester City.
