Gary Neville has given his verdict on Manchester United’s brilliant 4-1 victory over Leicester City.
Jose Mourinho’s side produced one of the club’s best performances since Sir Alex Ferguson retired with an inspired win over the Premier League champions.
Speaking about the game, Neville claims it was one of United’s most convincing wins in years.
“That’s the first time in years I’ve seen Man United drill a team into the ground and say ‘you’re not coming back up again’,” he said.
“The first goal transformed the whole dynamic of the first-half.”
The contrast between United and our previous showings was absolutely incredible, the main difference being Wayne Rooney starting the game on the bench.
Mourinho’s players were able to get the ball forward quickly and showed what they were capable of with the Englishman left out of the starting XI.
Hopes are the Portuguese boss has learnt from his mistakes and understands there are plenty of options available to him at the club with other players offering to do what Rooney can do, but better.
