Paul Pogba was named the official man of the match for his display in Manchester United’s 4-1 win over Leicester City on Saturday.
Playing alongside Ander Herrera in a midfield pair, Pogba put in undoubtedly the best performance so far since he re-joined Man United in the summer. He really was sumptuous to watch.
A goal was the least he deserved in a display which showcased everything about his game; incisive passing, strength on the ball, an eye for goal and more importantly a natural ability to dictate and control the midfield. He imposed himself fully and Leicester had no answer.

It’s the sort of performance we all expected Pogba to put in straight away, rightly or wrongly, but after a few weeks of settling in it looks like he’s more than comfortable being back in Manchester.
Compliments have to go to Ander Herrera as well because he enabled Pogba to do what he wanted with a very disciplined performance in midfield alongside him. Without Ander playing so well, Pogba wouldn’t have had the freedom to roam like he did.
With such big games coming up in October against Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City, Pogba’s barnstorming display is well timed and hopefully an indicator of what’s to come in the following weeks.
