Jose Mourinho set to make January swoop for Real Madrid playmaker Isco – report

Manchester United are set to battle AC Milan for the signature of Real Madrid playmaker Isco, according to reports.

He has been continuously linked with a move to Old Trafford, but following Wayne Rooney‘s disappointing form, a deal for his services could be even more likely to take place.

Mourinho has allegedly identified Isco as a top target for the January transfer window as he looks to mount a Premier League title challenge.

The club have been linked with plenty of names, with Toni Kroos, Gareth Bale and Antoine Griezmann just a few of the top players linked with a move.

Isco opted to join Los Blancos in 2013 for £23m, just days after Mourinho announced his departure from the Bernabeu.

He has failed to cement his place in the starting XI and all three of his appearances this season have come from the bench.

The Spaniard has been overlooked by Zinedine Zidane, but could play a vital role to play under Mourinho at Old Trafford if he decides to play in Europe.

One thing we have learnt from Mourinho’s first transfer window at Man United, is that the Portuguese boss gets what he wants and if he sets his eyes on Isco, there’s a good chance we could see him in a United shirt.
