Andreas Pereira recorded a superb, David Beckham-esque assist during Grenada’s 3-1 defeat to Alaves on Monday night.
The Brazilian, who joined the Spanish side on a season-long loan deal over the summer, launched an inch perfect cross to set up Andreas Kravets for a routine finish in the 78th minute.
Pereira’s magnificent cross acted as the catalyst for a late onslaught from Grenada, but an injury time strike from Deyverson sealed the three points for Alaves.

Prior to Pereira’s moment of magic, Grenada looked painfully blunt edged and stripped of confidence. Their passing was benign, and their overall approach was muted to say the least.
However, a moment of brilliance from Pereira changed that: his inch perfect ball galvanised the entire side, drawing them out of their attacking inertia and into a trance of organised aggression going forward. Such a seismic change was, in this particular instance, was ultimately fruitless, but the 20-year-old demonstrated the invaluable capacity to produce a game-changing moment – a quality that will serve him well upon his return to Old Trafford.
