Luke Shaw was the main absentee from Manchester United’s open training session for FC Zorya on Thursday.
Both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Anthony Martial were involved which gives Jose Mourinho almost a full squad to choose from which is excellent news.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic also took part in training despite reports earlier this week which intimated he wouldn’t be involved nor be available for our match. Maybe that’s not the case, he certainly was involved in training.
Here is the list of Man United’s full training squad (via Manchester Evening News): De Gea, Romero, Johnstone, Darmian, Valencia, Fosu-Mensah, Smalling, Bailly, Blind, Rojo, Schneiderlin, Herrera, Fellaini, Carrick, Pogba, Lingard, Young, Mata, Memphis, Mkhitaryan, Martial, Rooney, Ibrahimovic, Rashford
There are no youngsters involved other than Timothy Fosu-Mensah and I suppose there will be some who question whether that’s a good thing. Had we comfortably beaten Feyenoord in our first game, Mourinho might have been able to include some but this match has now turned into a must win to gain momentum in our Europa League group.
It’s certainly a strong squad with hardly any injuries which is good news for United and Mourinho will have his press conference at 1.30pm this afternoon where he’s likely to give further information as to who will start.
