Memphis Depay has compared himself to Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Manchester United, stating they share the mentality to win everything.

He hasn’t started a single game for Man United this season, making three appearances off the bench clocking up a total of 12 minutes on the pitch.

Jose Mourinho hasn’t shown much faith in his ability after a dissapointing debut season Under Louis van Gaal.

Speaking about the big Swede, Memphis stated he trains with top players.

“With Zlatan Ibrahimovic I talk a lot,” he said.

“He has a killer mentality and wants to win everything, even in training. Like me. Therefore, the level is so high. I train with top players.”

He still has a point to prove at Man United and will be hoping for an opportunity from Mourinho, there is no comparing the pair, Zlatan has won everything there is to win and is one of the best strikers in the world, while Memphis is still only at the start of his career and has a long way to go before he can reach the big Swede’s level.

Memphis arrived at Old Trafford for £25 million from PSV Eindhoven in 2015 and went on to score two league goals in 29 appearances.

Everyone was aware of his ability before his arrival, but the Dutchman hasn’t lived up to expectations and will struggle to force his way back into the side.
