Jesse Lingard will make his first senior appearance for England as they take on Malta at Wembley Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The uncapped Man United forward has been training as one of Gareth Southgate’s wide men ahead of the World Cup qualifier.
He is now set to start on the flank after an impressive start to the season at Old Trafford.
Southgate has worked with both Lingard and Marcus Rashford for the U21s and will be aware of the quality they possess.

They’ll be relishing the opportunity to prove themselves on the main stage and it’ll be a big confidence boost for Lingard moving forward.
Lingard has plenty to offer and despite a disappointing showing against Manchester City, has proven what he is capable of with his spectacular solo goal against Leicester City.
After scoring a hat-trick on his U21s debut, Rashford will be hoping to have a big role to play off the bench today, he was one of the only bright sparks from England’s Euro 2016 campaign and will want to get a chance against Malta.
