Roma defender Kostas Manolas has heaped praise on Zlatan Ibrahimovic, labelling the Swede as a force of nature.
Ibrahimovic has already netted six goals under Jose Mourinho since coming to Old Trafford in July.
Various members of the Man United first team have hailed the 34-year-old for his influence off the pitch as well, with Ander Herrera becoming the latest to note how the Swede’s presence empowers the entire squad.
Manolas, who was on the receiving end of a Zlatan-led 4-1 thrashing whilst playing for Olympiakos back in 2013, was full of admiration for the Swede.
“Ibra is a force of nature, you practically can’t keep up with him during the match because he has an incredible physicality,” he said.
Make no mistake, Manolas’ comments add to an ever-growing catalogue of praise for the striker. Implicit in Manolas’ sentiments is also a sense of hurt, perhaps even trauma. Tussling with Zlatan for 90 minutes would be excruciating to say the least: maybe there ought to be a ‘Zlatan victims support group’, or something?
Joking aside, the Swede, despite the barrage of doubt that initially came his way, has emphatically silenced critics with a series of imposing performances – the most important aspect being his goals, of course, and United fans will hope to see Zlatan continue his excellent early season run against Liverpool on October 17th.
