Jurgen Klopp has opened up about his relationship with Jose Mourinho heading into Manchester United’s clash against Liverpool on Monday morning.
After getting off to a spectacular start to the Premier League, Mourinho’s side have stumbled to sixth place, five points behind league leaders Manchester City.
Liverpool head into the match off the back of a four win streak and will undoubtedly look to take a win at Anfield.
Speaking about the Portuguese boss, Klopp claims he is full of respect for his work.
“I am full of respect for Mourinho’s work. He is a nice guy,” he said.
“Everything is okay between us. I think if you are not a journalist or a referee, he is a nice guy. I’m not one of these, so we have a good talk.”
Klopp’s impressive showings have seen him win the Premier League manager of the month award, after leading the club to three consecutive wins in September.
Mourinho will be looking to get the campaign back on track against Liverpool, as his side head into a busy schedule of fixtures.
It’s an important time for Man United, but Mourinho is the right man to guide his team through it.
