Manchester United defender Daley Blind believes his side’s height advantage could be the key to winning against Liverpool.
He is expected to be in Jose Mourinho‘s starting XI for the clash and is undoubtedly excited like the rest of the squad.
Three of our four goals against Leicester City came from Blind’s corners and he insists they must once against use the additional aerial threat against Jurgen Klopp’s in-form side.
“We have a lot of height in the box and we must use that,” he said.
“Top-level football games are close and they can be decided with small details; set-pieces are one of them and it is an opportunity for us to score a goal.”
“Our fans are always with us, they always have our back and we feel that, which is important for us. Every game they are there and they are always behind us in their numbers; that is great to see.”
It’s a big game on Monday and if the squad are able to replicate the Leicester City showing, it’d send out a clear message that Mourinho’s Man United are back on track.
As we saw against Stoke City, Man United are capable of making chances but it’s all about finding goals and trying to make a lead early, which is why we only took a point away from Mark Hughes’ side.
