Zlatan Ibrahimovic fail to guide Man United’s best opportunity of the match past Liverpool’s goalkeeper as the side were left with just one shot on target over the 90 minutes.
His chance came from Pogba’s pinpoint cross to the back post, but the Frenchman, who was deployed behind Ibrahimovic in attack, wasn’t able to make his mark on the game.
Speaking after the draw, Mourinho insists he expected more in attack from Pogba.
“Had it been 1-0, it would have been finished,” he said.
“Where Pogba was playing, I was expecting more penetration.
“Defensively we did really well, we should have had a little bit more. We had a big chance that I thought Zlatan was going to score.”
Pogba hasn’t lived up to the expectations of fans at Old Trafford and after becoming the world’s most expensive player the pressure will continue to mount.
At 23, there is plenty of development in line for the Frenchman, but he will need to start producing some results against the likes of Chelsea and Man City in upcoming weeks.
