Zlatan Ibrahimovic gives his thoughts on Man United’s draw with Liverpool

Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic claims he will be more clinical infront of goal, after missing a vital header during Monday’s 0-0 draw at Liverpool.

The Swede has scored six goals this season and when he left his marker in the 54 minute to meet Paul Pogba‘s pinpoint cross at the back post, he was unable to guide his effort past goalkeeper Loris Karius.

Jose Mourinho‘s side however were successful in nullifying a free-scoring Liverpool side and Ibrahimovic admits the squad were happy to earn a point from the draw.

“I think it was a good result think after the second half and the chances that they had. I think we can still work but we are getting there,” he said.

“My chance was difficult. I needed to chase the ball instead of attacking it but I should have at least hit the target. I was there – that’s the most important thing – and next time I will do better.

“The season is long. I see the conquering teams are losing points at the same time and any week, different things can happen.

“I mean, if you win two games in the row you’re on the top. That’s the way it has been so far. If we can get the wins we need to win the points then we are in touch, but it is a long season. We are there, we are fighting, we are getting points. We just need to click and then it’ll be easier.”

Man United now sit seventh position in the Premier League table, five points behind league leaders Manchester City.

While we are behind in points, as Zlatan suggests, there is still plenty of time left in the season and with Man City drawing with the likes of Everton, there will be more chances to catch up moving forward.
