Jose Mourinho has confirmed Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be available for Manchester United’s clash against Fenerbahce.
Mkhitaryan trained with the squad ahead of the clash and could be set to return to the side for the first time in over a month.
He hasn’t featured since the Manchester derby defeat on September 10 and has been recovering from a thigh injury, although he was available for the Premier League match at Liverpool on Monday, he did not travel to Merseyside.
Speaking ahead of the game, Mourinho claims it’s time for Mkhitaryan to get back to the levels he achieved at Borussia Dortmund.
“He was injured quite a long time but he’s not injured any more,” he said.
“Now it’s time for him to go back to the levels we know he can achieve.”
It’s a big boost for the side and Mkhitaryan’s return will undoubtedly open up a range of options moving forward.
Mourinho should continue to ease him back into football and some game time against Fenerbahce will be a must if he won’t feature against Chelsea in the Premier League.
