Paul Pogba insists his fellow teammates are in great spirits ahead of the game with Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
The Frenchman sent a statement to his critics with a sensational performance against Fenerbahce in the Europa League, netting twice in a comfortable 4-1 win.
Jose Mourinho‘s side now turn their attention to this weekend’s contest with Chelsea, who sit just two points ahead of Man United.
Speaking after the game, the 23-year-old declared that the Man United squad was in good spirits ahead of the clash with Chelsea.
“It’s a great feeling and a great performance from the team,” he said.
“We played very well and scored a lot of goals. We enjoy playing like that and we have to be ready for the big games coming up.”
With just five points separating the top seven Premier League sides, encounters like this hold astronomical levels of importance. A win could see Mourinho’s side rise to fourth spot, whilst defeat could inflict some gloomy distance between themselves and those challenging for the title.
Both United and Chelsea, both under new managers, are yet to completely find their rhythm this season, and a win Sunday could act as an important catalyst early in the season.
