Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been left confused and unhappy after being left out from Manchester United’s squad to face Fenerbahce, according to reports.
Jose Mourinho decided not to include him in the squad even though the Portuguese boss had revealed the Armenian was fully fit.
Since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund, he has suffered a thigh injury playing for his country and hasn’t been able to find his feet at Old Trafford.
Supporters expected to see him feature against the Turkish side, however Mkhitaryan watched the game from the director’s box at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
It’s not a surprise to hear him left confused after his exclusion from the squad, most fans were hoping to see him pick up at least 20 minutes of game time to help build his match sharpness.
However, after not featuring against Fenerbahce, there is a slim chance we’ll see him against Chelsea as Mourinho looks to ease him back into football.
An ideal place to re-introduce Mkhitaryan would be against either Burnley or Fenerbahce once again in a few weeks as it’s vital for him to pick up minutes before throwing him into the the deep end, as we all saw against Manchester City.
