Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho beleives it’s impossible to predict if Manchester United will win the Premier League this season.
After eight games of the season, Man United sit in seventh place and find themselves five points behind league leaders Manchester City.
Speaking about the league this season, Mourinho claimed he wouldn’t be able to place money on anyone winning.
“I am not a gambler but if I was, I wouldn’t bet a lot on the title or top four because there is a big risk of losing money,” he said.
“You look at the table and the distances are so short. It looks like the team that wins three matches in a row is immediate in the top three or four. And the team that has a bad run for a couple of results, just a couple, goes immediately outside the top four.
“But honestly, it looks like it is going to be tight. It is going to be tight.
“We are in a period where some teams are having easier fixtures. If they win two or three of those easy fixtures and the other ones are playing between them, they share points.
“My feeling is it will be close and probably one team that you think is playing for the title in March, probably in May doesn’t finish in the top four. It is going to be really tight.
“There probably won’t be six in the running at the end, maybe three.”
Though United have not gotten off to the smoothest start, they are only five points off the top, which is a gap that can be closed down with a good run of matches.
Our last two games in the league have ended in draws and it’s crucial that Mourinho starts bringing in wins so we can keep up with our rivals.
The Portuguese boss has steadied the ship after the loss to Watford and with decent showings against Liverpool and Feherbahce last week, Man United will look to continue their good run as they visit Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
