Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to be part of Manchester United’s squad to face Man City tonight at Old Trafford in the EFL Cup Fourth Round.
It will be the first time Man United fans have seen Mkhitaryan in action for just under 50 days since his last appearance which also came against Man City back in September.
Having had to battle with injuries and potentially other factors behind the scenes, Mkhitaryan must be itching to get back into action and fans can’t wait to see him in full flow.
Looks like Henrikh Mkhitaryan's United exile might come to an end tonight. Been preparing with the squad. Decent chance of being in the 18.

So much has been said and written about Mkhitaryan’s muted start to life in Manchester. To say it hasn’t worked out so far is a major understatement but he’s had to fight for his fitness after a succession of injury problems. Having now trained for a full month, those issues are hopefully behind him.
We’re desperate for Mkhitaryan to come in and add some verve to our flat attack. His cameo against Hull showed what he is all about – running at defenders with pace and having both the vision and quality to pick out threaded passes, there is nobody like him in our squad in terms of an attacking sense, not as the whole package.
The bad thing is that everybody will now be expecting Mkhitaryan to hit the ground running straight away having spent so much time out and that could prove to be difficult but with United in the current form we’re in, the return of Mkhitaryan – a player who contributed to over 50 goals last season with Borussia Dortmund – is a timely boost.
