Manchester United’s Eric Bailly ruled out for at least two months

Eric Bailly has thanked Manchester United fans for their overwhelming support but confirmed he is set to be sidelined for two months through injury.

Bailly had been a revelation at the back for Man United as the Ivorian defender cemented himself as Man United’s first choice centre-back after an excellent start to life in Manchester.

However, we’ll now have to cope without him for two months which is going to be very tough. Writing a message to fans, Bailly said: “I wanted to thank you for all the messages of support that I received since the injury! I hope to be able to play again for United and The Elephants before 2 months, God willing. 🙏🏾Thanks for always being there! 🔴🙌🏽🇨🇮”

I think it’s an understatement to say that United fans are worried about how our defence is going to shape up without Bailly. Chris Smalling and Daley Blind were lost at sea against Chelsea and it’s crucial we get into a run of good form ahead of the festive period where our title race could be over if we don’t manage to keep up with teams around us.

Hopefully Bailly can overcome his injury, work hard and return an even better player because his early form for the club suggests he can be a superb defender for us for a long time. Good luck, Eric.
