Phil Jones returns to training with Manchester United

Phil Jones is back in training with Manchester United after completing his recovery from his latest injury setback, according to the Daily Mail.

The 24-year-old suffered knee ligament injury and has not been fit enough to feature under Jose Mourinho.

He only featured 13 times last season as he suffered a range of problems and supporters have become frustrated with his inability to keep fit.

Jones has recently returned to training at Carrington, as Eric Bailly has suffered a long-term while Luke Shaw has revealed Chris Smalling could be set to return soon.

Smalling had been carrying a foot injury and with Bailly out for two months with a knee injury, it’s the perfect time for Jones to try and save his career at Old Trafford.

He has only made 92 Premier League starts in five years, and despite his ability to play in a number of positions, has been seriously held back by an array of injuries.

His return will be a boost for Mourinho as it improves his squad depth moving forward, but it’ll be a big ask for anyone to have to try and fill Bailly’s shoes on the side, as he was one of our best performers of the season so far.
